Weld Inspection And Repair
All in one Service
Welding is a process conducted at high heat, melting the base material, usually with the addition of filler material. In that way, it’s different than brazing and soldering.
The high heat creates a weld pool of molten metal. When the melt cools, it forms a joint stronger than the parent material. Welders also use pressure alongside high temperature, or by itself in some cases, to strengthen their welds.
Finally, they might take advantage of shielding gas. It serves to protect melted and filler metals from oxidization and contamination.
Are You In Need Of Weld Inspection And Repair Services
Weld Inspection And Repair
We can help you choose the best techniques and working methods to ensure the most effective, safe and efficient repair method. Our Senior welding Inspectors along with close connections with TWI welding engineers also provide third party independent review and supervision of weld repair procedures, from the development stage to their application.
MMA – Welding
Manual Metal Arc (MMA also known as SMAW Shielded Metal Arc Welding) welding is the most flexible and one of the most widely used arc welding processes. It involves striking an arc between a covered metal electrode and a workpiece.
The heat of the arc melts the parent metal and the electrode which mix together to form, on cooling, a continuous solid mass. The central metal electrode or core wire acts as a consumable, providing the filler metal for the weld. MMA welding can be used to join most steels, stainless steels, cast irons and many non-ferrous materials. For many mild and high-strength carbon steels, it is the preferred joining method.
FCAW – Welding
Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW or FCA) is a semi-automatic or automatic arc welding process.
Flux cored wire is one of the most popular welding materials because it has several advantages over other welding materials.the a
Flux-cored arc welding also has more excellent deposition rates than other types of welding. This means that more weld material can be deposited in a shorter time, leading to increased productivity.
Flux core welders can produce consistent quality welds with excellent penetration, particularly on thicker materials. The gas expands away from the weld puddle at a consistent rate and volume.
MIG -MAG Welding
MIG welding is a type of arc welding process that uses a welding gun to continuously feed a heated solid wire electrode into the weld pool. The welding gun also supplies shielding gas to protect the weld pool from air contamination. MIG stands for metal inert gas. This welding process is also known as gas metal arc welding (GMAW) or metal active gas (MAG) welding.
MIG/MAG welding is a versatile technique suitable for both thin sheet and thick section components
MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas welding) is an arc welding process that involves feeding a continuous solid wire electrode through a welding gun and into the weld pool, thereby joining two base materials together. A shielding gas is also sent through the welding gun to protect the weld pool from contamination1. The process is also known as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)2.
TIG Welding
Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) is an arc welding process that produces the weld with a non-consumable tungsten electrode.
In the TIG welding process the arc is formed between a pointed tungsten electrode and the workpiece in an inert atmosphere of argon or helium. The small intense arc provided by the pointed electrode is ideal for high quality and precision welding.
